More on Yuliana & Brian:

Brian Nguyen?s dance career started as early as age 8 with karaoke videos of the well-known King of Pop, Michael Jackson.  For many years he pursued the arts of break dancing and popping in Los Angeles, California where he was born and raised.  After being introduced to Argentine Tango, he quickly fell in love and since then has dedicated his time to mastering the seductive art form.  As a tango dancer, he has performed in many well-known venues including the Hollywood Bowl, Thousand Oaks Civic Center, Lobero Theatre, Royce Hall, Nokia Theatre and many more.  His tango masters include Javier Rodriguez, Gabriel Misse, Jorge Dispari, Fabian Peralta, Graciela Gonzalez, Francisco Forquera, Geraldine Rojas and many others.  Today, he continues to influence others with the quality of his movement and the devotion he has for the traditional style of Argentine Tango.

Born and raised in Armenia, Yuliana Basmajyan immigrated to the US in her early adolescent years. She took dance classes in her college years in hopes of one day becoming a dancer on stage.  Her background includes some modern, jazz, flamenco, and extensive training in Salsa.  As a salsa dancer, she performed alongside many renowned dancers including Sergio & Salud.  She discovered her talent in tango after years of salsa and switched careers to pursue what she believed to be more ?daring? and ?rewarding?. She studied under world-class dancers such as Natalia Hills, Romina Levin, Andrea Misse, Melina Brufman, and Geraldine Rojas to name a few.  While living the dream, she performed in tango shows and concerts that took place in Nokia theatre, Wilshire Ebell theatre, and many high-end banquet halls around CA and Mexico. Aside from tango, she has been a model, actress, and host for different functions.  Currently, she resides in Glendale, CA and continues to teach weekly group classes.

Brian and Yuliana crossed paths at a milonga in 2007.  Together, they travel to Argentina a few times a year to continue their tango education with their maestros. Currently, they teach together and are training for Tango Mundial, an annual world championship tango competition held in Buenos Aires.
