For those of you who aren't aware, technically, Salsa dancing originated as Mambo danced to Salsa music. Many folks today refer to Mambo as "dancing on '2'". But, in reality, Salsa is actually Mambo "danced on '1'".

Interesting article re-posted from the New York Times about ERNIE ENSLEY. Don't know if you ever heard of him (I know I certainly hadn't), but back in the day (1940's, 50's and 60's) he was the one and original "Mambo King".

The R & B Web Site has been re-designed as a Salsa community website. It's new purpose is to create more interactivity between Salsa (and other) dancers to better know not just the hot places to go and cool patterns to execute, but also who we are and why we do what we do. And, if we can learn more about dance in general (techniques, etiquette, history, culture, etc...), that makes us not just better dancers, but better human beings.
