Arm Tone Article Updated with Videos

The Arm Tone article on this site has been updated to include links to videos which will hopefully better visualize the concept.

  • Partnering: Basic Lead and Follow (From Ron's Swing To Steppin Dance Course)--OK
  • Arm Tone (From Enio Cordoba's Salsa I Course) -- Excellent

  • Arm Tone, or lack of it, is one of the biggest problems amongst both men and women in partner dancing. Good arm tone better enables leaders to lead and followers to follow.

Everyone should read and study the concepts and techniques presented in this article and these videos. Forget about patterns: If you can feel your partner and what he is going to do or how she is going to react, you can lead/follow anybody, anywhere, anytime.

If, on the other hand, you're always guessing because you're a fraction of a second late due to poor tension in your arms, then leaders are always going to manhandle you and followers are always going to give you that puzzled, dear-in-the-headlights look. Yeah, you know what we mean.

    It's that important.
